I saw United 93 monday. You know, it was exactly what I was expecting from reading the reviews. It was hard to watch, but extremely well-made. To me it felt more like a documentary than a hollywood 'movie'. There are no character arcs, no big stars. It was respectful as a movie like this could be. There are no poltical overtones or any other hidden agendas. You basically are just watching over the events of that morning in near real-time. The last third of the movie was ....oy... I kept creeping down in my seat until my head was halfway down the back of it. Yes, it was difficult to watch at times. the lady sitting next to me left before they even hijacked the plane. I am hoping that doesn't keep anyone from ever seeing it. Everyone should. Even if it's a couple years from now. I'm definitely glad I watched it. More than anything, it was a heart-wrenching tribute to those brave people and the actions they took. Well-written reviewTrailer
First off.... BROKEBACK... MOUNTAIN... ON.... DVD.... YES!! Ok, now that that's out of the way... ( Another fabulous meme )

WTF is wrong with people??? Writing retarded, inane reviews about Brokeback Mountain on NetFlix and then getting all their retarded friends to rate them as 'helpful' so they're the ones people see when they look up the movie...??? Read more....

Watched a great movie the other night, A Home at the End of the World. Bout this kid who loses his family early on in life and how it shapes his own. When the kid(Bobby) is grown up, he's played by an -unbelievably- adorable Colin Farrell. It was really nice, sweet... my only complaint is that the story wasn't very linear, I guess, I was a little confused by the end. More than enough nice things to make up for it though :-) Watch the Trailer! Also saw V for Vendetta last night. Also very good. Lots of action, interesting story, good acting and such. It had a very nice look to it, very polished, I'm beginning to appreciate that more and more. I'll need to see it again though, as I spent the majority of my time trying not to cough every 5 seconds in the very crowded theater. Stupid cold. Trailer site

I had the urge to figure out the 5 best movies I saw that came out in 2005. And they are.... 1. Brokeback Mountain2. Sin City3. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire4. Kung Fu Hustle5. The 40-Year Old VirginHonorable Mentions: Wedding Crashers; Munich; Walk The LineIf I were more ambitious I would actually write -why-, but this will have to suffice for now. I am of course hoping that Brokeback Mountain will win all sorts of awards at the Oscars on Sunday... If it doesn't, that's ok... I think it may have become a victim of too much publicity and hype. The only thing that will make me REALLY REALLY MAD will be if the overrated Crash wins Best Picture. Better.. not... happen!!

Nice lil' clip from Brokeback can be seen hereEnds a bit awkwardly if you haven't seen it, but still worth watching. Shows when they first find out they have to leave Brokeback Mountain.
